
Yanchep is just 51km north of Perth Yanchep lies at the end f a chain of lakes believed to have been in the distant past an underground river system flowing through a series of limestone caves, now collapsed.
The Yaberoo Aborigines who have lived in the area for more than 40,000 years named it “Yanjet” for the bulrushes which fringe the lakes.
Yanchep National Park, covering 2,799ha, offers a range of natural and developed areas to enjoy.
