The farming town of Quairading was first settled in the 1860s.  The name is derived from the Aboriginal word “Kwirading”, meaning “the home of the small bush kangaroo’.

The Quairading District Heritage Trail starts in the nearby Dangin town site and covers various attractions.

The Home of Natural Wood Sculpture, 22km north-east of the town, features antique furniture as well as sculpture and can be viewed by appointment.

Quairading is 165km cast of Perth on the York to Merredin road.
